Phuket 2015

This overseas trip is probably one of the most experiential trip I've ever have.
Trip?
Trip.
Trippy.

JUST KIDDING.

And so the blogging begins, don't mind my lup sup English.

Most of the times we go to other country as tourists.
But since I've learnt some Thai, and I really like the Thai culture, I decided to go to Phuket with a slightly less tourist mindset this time round.
And the outcome was amazing.
I feel the warmth in every single person.
Most not leading an easy life but at least no one seems to be lifeless.

Remember I used to talk about how the people in MRT are always so dead?
Everyone's just using their phone / sleeping.
I feel that it is actually annoying for me to see the same situation every day when I go to work at Suntec in the morning sometimes.
And I don't think this will ever change as technology keeps on improving over the years.
Everyone will just be glued to their phone everywhere all the time.

I know I'm not in the right to criticise about this because I myself is guilty for all the above mentioned.
But going to Phuket this time round kind of opened my mind.
As if I found myself (kind of loss in this holiday period)
The best part of the trip would probably be times when I'm totally alone.
That feeling is so awesome.
And I won't even be touching my phone too because I didn't get a sim card.
So walking along the streets, scootering down the roads, as I blend into the thai lifestyle, all I feel in my heart is peace.
Away from all the problems in Singapore.
It felt so ...
How do I put it?
I don't know.
It's just that warmth in my heart.

Made a few local friends over there.
Two tour agents, one bar boss and a few bar girls.
The first tour agent Pete was probably the friendliest dude in the whole of Patong.
I like how he's so humble and polite when talking to people.
Even though he's so much older than me.
Yes..... I know he's a tour agent and I'm a tourist.
Definitely, the way he speaks to me would be more friendly.
But still, he's a funny man and I like how he's enjoying his job.
Everytime we walk past him he will be waving to us and smiling so wide.
LEGIT SMILE.
We probably won't smile so happily from our heart to some strangers you met a few hours ago.
So we went to Phi phi island with him helping us and then he wasn't there anymore the next day.
So the next day was his friend.
Bee.
I call her P, Bee.
Hahaha.
Step one local.
It's actually just a friendly way to call someone older than you in Thailand (if I'm not wrong hahah)
Like a sister.
Sister Bee.

So she was like a sister to me.
When I went to book the James Bond Island trip alone, kind of talked to her about her life and Thai people in general.
Not going to talk much about our topic, but she mentioned that she really like tourists who can speak Thai.
Even if it's a little bit.
Like she feels that I'm hardworking and smart.
Hardworking from the impression that I'm learning a third language.
Smart just because I wear glasses.
Hahahaa.
Then she told me Thai people believe that people who wear spectacles are smart.
SO I'M SMART.
The thing I liked about that short conversation was how she was so geniuine when talking to me.
She made me feel as if I'm not a tourist there.
An example would probably be like how she was talking to me about her daughter.
Like how her daughter is going to study in the university too.
Then tells me about their lifestyle here.
All this time her daughter was listening also.
LOL a bit awkward.
Her daughter is probably like 16/17.
Yup, so was really appreciative of that.

And next I would talk about a bar named Black Rose Bar.
Hahahaha.
Went there 4/6 nights?
Made friends with the boss.
I enjoyed myself there, I don't know about the rest.
Hahahaha.
Drink with the boss as if I'm part of a shareholder of what HAHA.
But he was kind enough to let me know private stuffs like rent costs, how much the shop earns everyday.
He says that it's not an easy job, but he and her wife enjoys working there.
Generally, I would like to say I've never enjoyed drinking so much before.
Like I don't like to drink when I'm in Singapore.
But it feels a little different at that point of time.
Like really just chill there and talk.
I think probably the language barrier made things more interesting hahaha.
Drink and forget about problems.
Wake up next morning feel like fuck.
I guess this is why I suddenly jio you Chin Yue.
HAHAHA I know you reading this Amen.

Anyway this holiday is ending~
So many thoughts in my mind now.
Reality really hit hard today.
But I guess it's just post overseas feelings.
And also 3 hours of sleep.
Hahahaha.
Backed for 5 hours already.
Suddenly a lot of things going through my mind.
I need to rant it out.

All the usage of phone's technology to settle things and using computer wasting time seeing facebook instagram youtube stalk girls buzzfeed touch here touch there swipe here swipe there click here click there talk to people you probably wont meet just talk fake friends fucked up friends gey siao people why is life so complicated or is is just me acting like a kid that don't know what I for my future yeah stop ranting like a kid wake up not kid anymore 21 why I need to go uni why I need to study so that I have a happy future it just doesn't makes sense I want to live a simple life as long as I'm happy I'm fine but some girls are just pratical not talking about you dont worry I really don't like how this society is running I don't want to stay in Singapore but I no money so how to get money I need to go uni study finish uni go working after working got money got money then forget the happy then continue working so this cycle repeats I'm stuck can someone save me hahahaha okay end of rant thanks for reading.

SAF DAY / PRE PHUKET

SAF DAY IS TODAY.
Or rather 2 hours ago.
Can't believe I have actually finished my 2 years journey of NS and ORD-ed almost 4 months ago.
Was looking at all the SAF day posts on instagram and my brain took me on a journey through BMT all the way to ORD.
It was an amazing journey.

All I could say is that I had an amazing journey.
With amazing people taking care of me throughout this journey.
Learn things that I can apply in life.
Became a more responsible soldier, a more responsible man.
As I walked back into 3 Guards tonight, I felt a sense of belonging.
It's like back home again after not booking in for 4 months.
And I'm so glad I actually decided to come back.
Haven't been back in camp since 8 March 2015.
Stepping back today just reminded me of all the NSF / Regulars that are protecting the country for us.
While everyone is enjoying their weekends, people are guarding the air, land and sea 24/7.
While you're sleeping soundly on your bed, some are probably doing route march, training for missions.
While you're enjoying your cup of coffee on a rainy day, some are enduring the rain out in the field, missing that warmth at home.
Not trying to be patriotic over here but as I think back on my days in outfields suffering, I'm definitely thinking of all the civilians being safe and sound and that includes my family and friends.
And I feel honoured to be doing that.

#signonfeelingstronk
#finishstudynojobthenthink

Hahahaha.
Anyway, congratulations to my PS for his promotion to Staff.
SO PROUD OF YOU.
I HAVE A PS WHO WEARS A STAFF SERGEANT RANK.
Hahhaha.
Saw a lot of faces back in camp.
Feels so surreal yet familiar when they still call me sir.
Really glad to have went back and spend time talking to them.
Really nice catching up.
Will come back again when the whole platoon is in camp hahaha.

Anyway it's PHUKET tomorrow.
Excited.
I'm going to sleep now.
Going to wake up in 2 hours 57 minutes time.
Just stressing that 57 minutes to stress that it's less than 3 hours.
AMEN.
Good night guys.
Sweet dreams.
Don't forget that somewhere out there in the field right now, there's someone using a night vision to defend his land, our land.

Bali

Hi all.
I just came back from Bali together with Wei Lun, Wilfred, Leon, Chin Yue, Tubby and Shaon.
Just going to do a short blog about how I spent my days and feelings after the trip.

Monday night:
Headed to find Wei Lun.
Had dinner together at Tampines Kopitiam and then headed back to his house to lepak.
After that Tubby's Dad fetched the two of us towards the airport.
Did our usual stuffs and then headed to board the plane.

Tuesday morning:
Reached Bali Airport at around 6.30am or so.
Went to check in to our hotel and went to change money.
Ate mac breakfast and then went to check in.
Can't believe all the things there are so cheap.
Mac's breakfast (Not mac breakfast) for around $3.
After that headed to settle some admin stuffs like SIM card and money.
Then headed back to the villa to check in.
Our villa is awesome.
3 Storeys.
1st floor living room.
2nd floor bedroom.
3rd floor balcony.
Beds are big and comfy.
Lay out is simple and everything about the villa is just very pleasing.
So headed out to eat lunch.
Ate ramen for lunch and then headed to the beach.
Very first activity was surfing.
Didn't know how to surf but Leon taught me and Wilfred how to.
Quite fun but still couldn't get the hang of it.
And I had abrasions all over the front of my body.
FUCKING PAIN.
So went to have dinner and then headed back to the hotel.
And things that happen in the hotel, I shall keep it offline.
Interested people can ask me directly :)

Omg I can't really remember what we did on Wednesday.
Just remember I went to skygarden at night and went to surfing again on Thursday.

HAHAHAHA I'm sorry for the fucked up post.
But I'm rushing off to teach tuition in 45 mins time.
And I haven't bathe and eat.
~~~~
*EDIT*
IM BACK HOME.
Wednesday morning:
Went to do white water rafting.
Damn awesome.
Feels like we're back in paddlers again.
HAHAHA.
The rafting got us so rekt-ed.
But no one fell off the boat.
Not like my sabah trip when I was sec 3 HAHAHA.
Fell off the boat.
ANYWAY, Yup so after rafting, we ate lunch and then kind of forgot what we did in between.
But went to skygarden at night.
Stomach wasn't feeling so well so didn't drink that much.
The 6 of them was just so high.
Hahahaha.
Thankful that they pulled me to join in.
Wasn't as fun as if I drank more.
Fuck stomach.
:/
But still enjoyed watching them getting so wasted.
HAHAHA.
Especially tubby sitting down at the roadside after we left.
Mie Sedaap after skygarden and then sort of brought them back to the hotel.
SLEPT AT 4+
Thursday morning:
Woke up at 9+ and then went to eat breakfast.
Then decided to go surfing again.
Hahahaha.
This time surfing was so much better.
Managed to reach the beach 4 times hahahaha.
Fucking fun.
Enjoyed the 2nd surfing session so much more.
Maybe cause the abrasion wasn't that pain.
So after surfing we went to shop around for shoes.
Also, force prepped for the next day ascent to mount batur.
So we slept at 11+
Ate Mie Sedaap again before sleeping HAHAHA.
Friday Morning:
Woke up at 1+am and then went down our villa and headed to Mount Batur.
So reached the base at around 4am?
Then started trekking out.
Reached the lower peak at around 6am and then we started waiting for the sun rise.
Sun rise was breathtaking.
Scenery was so amazing.
Really enjoyed the sunrise.
Cold and freezing but warm at heart.
<3 p="">So after watching the sunrise, started to hike down.
And guess who we saw?
NOC.
OMGGGGGGGGGG.
HAHAHAHA.
Saw xi kway ong, sylvia, michelle, nina and berlin (huixuanxuan)
Hahahaha.
Like how they speak chinese in real life and they are Sylvia is totally the same as in the youtube videos.
They looked damn shag from the climb.
Hahaha then their instagram all saying "Won't want to climb a mountain ever again"
HAHAHA.
Damn funny.
So went down to the base and then went to eat our brunch at somewhere opposite the mountain.
Great nasi goreng and mee goreng.
Then headed back to the hotel.
Sorted out our stuffs and left the hotel.
Went to walk around Kuta and ate our dinner at a beach.
And after dinner, headed back to the airport and yeah, that's the end of the trip.
But generally, I would like to commend this trip as a whole.
It was amazing company.
Going with all my good friends.
And make me look forward to my Phuket and Krabi trip next week.
Loved the feeling where you can detach yourself from the realities of Singapore.
And especially reflected a lot during this trip.
Obstacles like what Wilfred said on instagram, I guess the obstacles made us understand certain things about our friendship as a whole.
Didn't see it as a problem but just a time for us to take a break and reflect upon ourselves.
I enjoyed this trip as a whole and I'm very thankful to Wilfred for planning all this.
And I'm sure all of us got something to take away from this trip.
And till my next trip to Phuket, going to work and climb.
Back to my usual lifestyle.
Usual lifestyle but different me.
:)
Wei Lun and Tubby would understand what I mean :DDDDDD
Thanks for reading guys!
Wait for my Phuket and Krabi posts :D
PICTURES ARE GONNA BE UP ON WILFRED'S / WEI LUN'S FACEBOOK.
SO JUST BE PATIENT!!!
See ya guys.
Pumpfest NMQ 2015
As I touched the last tile of Route 6, I remembered I was so happy but somehow not everyone cheered for me.
Because the whistle blew.
I was late by 2 seconds.
This means that I only completed 2 routes out of 6 in the competition.
I was so extremely pissed with myself.
Why did I drink that sip of water?
Why did I not get the rules correct.
When it's 1 minute left, I thought it was 2 minutes left.
I took my time.
And in my mind, I was thinking "There goes my finalist placing. Just cause of 2 seconds."
Was so upset the whole time, but kind of get over it by the fact that it was just a careless mistake of mine.
So I was collecting my photos from the competition and Justin Mo was saying "Results are out bro, let's go."
Kind of reluctant to see my results, but kind of interested to see where I was also.
Mixed feelings.
I popped my head through the crowd that was around the slip of results.
Ang Wee Pin......
Ang Wee Pin.....
Finding......
And there I saw it, I saw my name in the shaded region.
I was 3rd!
WTF.
It really came as a shock for me.
I did not expect that result at all.
I was so FUCKING HAPPY.
Sorry I need to use that.
SO FUCKING HAPPY.
I remembered jumping around when I saw the results.
Hahaha congrats to Joshua too!
Really like to thank J MO for guiding me through the training phase.
And I'm so glad those late night trainings weren't wasted.
Even though I can say I didn't train to my hardest.
But I can safely say, the effort I put in somehow paid off.
Next up is NMF 2015.
Novice Man Finals.
If anyone is interested to come for my finals.
It'll be at Canopy (Behind JCUBE)
1440 - 1540.
~~~~~~~~~
Thanks to those who congratulated me.
Really appreciated!!!!!

I feel that it's weird sometimes

that 2 years in the army,
And 2 years in the uni for girls.
Create such a big change in friendship.
After this two years, I just felt that most of the friends around me are becoming different.
It feels as if like everyone is....

Strangers again.

OR maybe I'm just the weird one.

Not saying that it is a bad thing or what.
There are people with good changes.
But it still feels weird.
Somtimes when you look into someone else's eyes, you could see that he/she lost it.
He/she is not the same anymore.

Okay, I guess I'm probably the weird one.

And randomly, I'll like to say,
I miss you.
Thanks for visiting my mind time and time again.
Appreciate it.
Not.

Dedication

Hi all!
This is going to be a little gay but it's going to be a dedicated post to a very good friend of mine called Tee Chin Yue.
Known him for 9 years and still counting.
And I really like how we have seen each other grown up throughout the 9 years.
A little affected by alcohol now hence the sudden urge to post hahahaha.
But in all seriousness, I really want to thank him for being there for me throughout my life.
We share too many common thoughts ever since Secondary 1.
(Except the first day we knew each other you told me to shut up)
Knn
HAHAHAHA
But yeah, I'm so grateful to have a friend like you.
So similar in our ideas.
And even up to today, we still dare to open up to each other as if we have been talking everyday.
I guess that's a definition of a good friend.
You know that person is your good friend when he/she makes you ponder about things so bad that you'll still probably think about when you go to sleep.
Thanks for being that friend.
Wooooooooooooo.

G A Y

To an everlasting friendship~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
*cheers*
